The Perfect Steak
Here’s how to make a perfect steak just like a fancy steakhouse…
- Steak at least 1 inch thick. I like Ribeye.
- Bring steak to room temp or ~15-20 mins out of refrigerator
- At the same time, preheat oven to 400 – 450 degrees
- While oven is preheating, place cast iron skillet in oven to heat it up
- Pull skillet out of oven and place on burner set to medium high heat
- Rub olive oil on both sides of steak and cover with sprinkling of salt
- Sear steak in skillet approx 2-3 mins each side
- Place skillet in oven for ~10 mins for medium (adjust time as needed for preferred doneness)
- Remove from oven and let rest for ~10 mins
- Add small amount of butter to steak if desired
So simple…yum!!
