The Perfect Steak

Here’s how to make a perfect steak just like a fancy steakhouse…

  1. Steak at least 1 inch thick. I like Ribeye.
  2. Bring steak to room temp or ~15-20 mins out of refrigerator
  3. At the same time, preheat oven to 400 – 450 degrees
  4. While oven is preheating, place cast iron skillet in oven to heat it up
  5. Pull skillet out of oven and place on burner set to medium high heat
  6. Rub olive oil on both sides of steak and cover with sprinkling of salt
  7. Sear steak in skillet approx 2-3 mins each side
  8. Place skillet in oven for ~10 mins for medium (adjust time as needed for preferred doneness)
  9. Remove from oven and let rest for ~10 mins
  10. Add small amount of butter to steak if desired

So simple…yum!!
